Job Title Claim Handler

Purpose (statements to demonstrate why this job exists)
"The purpose of this job is for providing technical support to clients with regard to settlement of claims and to manage the claim process to settlement.."

Principal Accountability: Coordinates claim process, evaluates insurers performance, develops claim report, claim analysis report and recommendations for solutions to coverage issues to Account Managers and Brokers.

Primary Responsibilities (including 10 key points) as follows:
  1. Business Planning: Provides input with regard to the claim process and makes recommendations for improvements;
  2. Service Delivers : Monitors and manages the progress of all claims to settlement and keeps the client informed, Arrange accurate administration of claims in the companies claim system;
  3. Financial control: Keeps track and follows up on claim payments by insurance companies
  4. Product Management: Obtain from the insured and submit to insurers all relevant information and documentation necessary for the settlement of the claim; support the client in the discussions and negotiations with insurers, adjusters, lawyers and other relevant parties to expedite and obtain a fair and timely settlement of the claim
  5. Strategic: Keeps abreast of changing market conditions and informs the company's staff and clients, Provide accurate and up-to-date claims experience to Placement for renewal purposes and to Account Manager for meetings with clients
  6. Marketing: Assist the preparation of market submissions and broking plan for quotation and renewal purposes to meet prospect/client requirements
  7. Communication: Communicates with clients, insurers and colleagues about the claim process and proposes required adjustments of existing insurance policies and other day-to-day service requirements;
  8. Goals-Setting: Set and achieve goals;
Candidate Qualifications

1. Mandatory :
  1. Possesses and maintains general insurance knowledge;
  2. Has solid medical knowledge
  3. Has good analytical skills in policy interpretation
  4. Understands business environment and human resources in particular
  5. Has good problem solving and communication skills; knows how to dialogue with external and internal parties
  6. Committed to success; shows initiative, is creative, has a positive attitude, drives for results, has a passion for the business and continuously develops him/her self.
  7. "can-do" attitude
2. Desirable :
  1. Maintains an understanding of the Standard Operations and Procedures;
  2. Utilizes Broker Advantage Insurance System (BAIS) and other corporate software solutions (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Express);
  3. Is able to communicate effectively in English both oral and in writing;
  4. Understanding of the brokerage and insurance business;
  5. Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  6. Self motivated, result oriented, able to work in a performance driven environment and abide to the highest professional and ethical standards.
3. Other Areas :
Ability to keep the big picture in mind while not losing sight of the details
4. Salary Range
Rp. 5 – 7 million gross/month + meal and transport allowance and performance bonus.
